ABSTRUCT provided full structural & civil design for this new-build four storey block of flats in The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. A key challenge was to construct the new piled foundations and RC frame whilst maintaining sections of the original retained brickwork facades. ABSTRUCT assessed several construction and value engineering options for the client and contractor team. ABSTRUCT work entailed design of the RC frame and piled foundations, provision of all RC drawings and schedules, roof steelwork, underpinning, facade strengthening, structural restoration details, below ground drainage including SUDS.
