Abstruct Consulting Ltd provided structural design for the conversion of a former recording studio and commercial offices to form a new boutique hotel with bedrooms set over 5 floors in Covent Garden. The works involved extensive removals of the internal load-bearing walls requiring the installation of steel frames, an additional lightweight storey added to one half of the building with extensive roof modifications to the other half, a new glazed covered roof to the rear two storey section, new external plant platforms to the rear, chimney removals throughout the building and the introduction of new services risers through the building.
